Mission Complete... sort of

Thanks to everyone who supported, prayed, or went. The overwhelming sense of accomplishment and thanks to God for His gracious provision remains with us all. The outpouring of God's riches cannot be described in these words or even with pictures... but we will review their eternal effects as testimony to the awesome power of our Savior in eternity. For now let it be known that we now have friends in Chicago that are cherished partners in ministry. Like the Apostle Paul, we'll be looking for ways to renew and deepen our fellowship. Paul says in Romans 1:9-10,
"God, whom I serve with my whole heart in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God's will the way may be opened for me to come to you."
The Chicago team identifies with those sentiments. Thanks to all those who supported the effort in every way. Thanks to Jay Larson and Him Hoar for their excellent leadership. Thanks to all the team members that gave of their time and effort. Thanks mostly to our God who supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory! Oh!, and the work goes on... it was a simple gesture of good will to the people of Cicero Bible Church... they'll take it from here!

Cleaning Up

Final Day of Work

By God's grace and provision the team was able to accomplish all the goals that were set by Ron and team leaders Jay and Jim. We are grateful to have been able to work side by side with Ron, Miguel (Mike) and his wife Salme. We have seen their heart for the people of Cicero. It is evident that they really enjoy working together for the sake of God's glory, making it a real joy to come and give of ourselves each day. We're looking forward to worshiping together tomorrow. Afterwards we'll be their guests at a potluck before we head back home.

Painting the Foyer

The painting today was focused on the entranceway and the foyer of the church.

Moving Pastor Ron's Office

Moving Ron's office involved clearing out some spaces and utilizing the church dumpsters... and also moving books to make room for his library. Mike Anderson and Mike Ibarra worked well together.

We got a big lift!

The lift allowed us to reach places that would have been accessible only by long, dangerous, and wearisome ladders. Thanks for the lift!

Team Meeting

After arriving yesterday, and first thing today, we had a great opportunity to get together and talk about our plans and pray together.

Thursday Dinner

Thanks to Sandy Olsen we had a great dinner!

Travel

The usual travel banter was salted with humor and, of course, a little ribbing. The drivers took their share as they had cup-holders while the lowly passengers had none... spartan conditions to be expected in missions work of this kind.

Seatbelts were clicked at all times. Some passengers were not in them however... no names will be mentioned.

The drivers did a great job of providing a safe and comfortable ride.
